As a 20+ year musician, I love these things! Honestly, you guys are lucky I’m giving them up! I’ve been tapping out beats with these nonstop since we picked them up a couple weeks ago! They’re so much fun and easy to get a feel for, as far as control. Each doll is controlled by 3 strings attached to a smooth and sturdy cross-handle. (apologies to enthusiasts if there is a proper term) These birds were made for dancing and tapping! They are essentially percussion instruments, just as much as they are marionettes! I have to point out the very obvious fact that the pink one was sort of built to twerk - it can shake its booty better than a Kardashian at a Super Bowl after party! (again, apologies to enthusiast!). These handmade birds have a fairly simple setup - styrofoam, yarn, faux fur, felt, ribbon and more - but the craftsmanship here is top notch with an abundance of detail. These are not amateur craft hour projects! These were, without a doubt, created by a professional using high quality materials to perfection. The only negative is that the strings are slightly different lengths but it’s easy to get a feel for them with a little practice.
